While our firefighters are preparing to depart to Canada, the RFS Large Air Tanker 'Marie Bashir' continues to assist with fires burning throughout California.

Our LAT has completed more than 85 drops across 24 different fires, delivering over 1 million litres of retardant in support of ground crews.

We spoke with some of the Australian aircraft engineers and aerial firefighters who are currently deployed to the US supporting the operations.
