In 2015, with support from OuTrop, CIMTROP's Community Patrol Team built 38 dams along canal "Bahkan". The canal, along with thousands more, were dug by past illegal loggers to remove timber from the forest. Despite logging coming to an end in 2004, the canals remain and drain the swamp, making it vulnerable to fire. Dam building is essential to re-wet the swamp and prevent fires in the future.
