Autonomous vehicles are very complex systems, with modules that have been specifically designed for each process. These modules will handle connectivity, perception, propulsion and many more processes, while being designed to minimize the risk of failures and accidents.

To ensure your safety, meticulous risk management and assessment processes are employed, minimizing residual risks - those that remain after all precautions have been taken.

Imagine an autonomous vehicle equipped with sensors and cameras. These high-tech components, driven by artificial intelligence, continuously monitor the road conditions, from dry roads to wet or snow-covered surfaces,and even detect holes and cracks.

This is the result of the ArchitectECA2030 project, a collaboration involving three Norwegian partners: SINTEF, NXTECH and TRACSENSE. They have teamed up with the mission of revolutionizing road condition monitoring and vehicle connectivity.

One of the project's remarkable achievements is the Road Condition Detection through Vehicle-to-Everything Connectivity or RCD-V2X. This concept connects the autonomous vehicle to infrastructure and other vehicles. Using sensors and cameras, autonomous vehicles recognize road conditions in real time.

Imagine a camera and sensor system identifying road conditions, a vibration sensor sensing bumps, and V2X communication seamlessly connecting autonomous vehicles to the world around it.
