The Lower Colgan Creek Restoration Project by the City of Santa Rosa aims to enhance habitat quality for fish and wildlife, restore the natural ecosystem services provided by the creek, improve pedestrian access, and reduce flood risk. Completed in May 2026, the project created a continuous riparian habitat enhancement area totaling 15 urban acres and extending 1.3 miles along the creek. DWR served as one of the main funders of the project through the Urban Streams Restoration Program, contributing more than $5.8 million over the project’s three phases.
