![Advanced Fighting Fantasy | Graham Bottley in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Advanced Fighting Fantasy Publisher Graham Bottley in conversation with Jordan Sorcery.
Fighting Fantasy gamebooks have had an incredible legacy - ever since that we found that Warlock at Firetop Mountain we’ve gone back into the dungeons, forests, cities, islands, and everything else that Fighting Fantasy has had to offer.
In the 80s there was an initial attempt to create a roleplaying game based on the world, adventures, and enemies from the gamebooks, but it wasn’t until Arion Games released a second edition of the RPG in 2011 that the system really took off.
My guest today is responsible for resurrecting the Advanced Fighting Fantasy RPG, commissioning, writing, and publishing the entire game line, and most recently creating a brand new Advanced Fighting Fantasy boardgame - Dark Dungeons. We talk about honouring the legacy of what has come before, the methods and approaches to building a new game in an old world, and the business of RPG publishing in the modern marketplace.
Advanced Fighting Fantasy Publisher Graham Bottley interview.

Chris Peach, AKA Peachy, is one of the most recognisable faces in Warhammer - a seasoned army painter, Warhammer TV presenter, and all round lovely bloke!
We talk about Peachy’s career at Games Workshop - getting started in retail and building a community; how the business culture changed over time; becoming the first army painter at the studio and transitioning to the Warhammer TV team; and all of that before breaking out on his own and becoming a YouTube sensation!

![Games Workshops Forgotten Founder | John Peake in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
John Peake co-founded Games Workshop in 1975 with his school- and flat-mates Steve Jackson and Sir Ian Livingstone. Together they would sell John’s handmade wooden games, publish Owl & Weasel fanzine, and battle to keep the company afloat in its first year.
Everything culminated in the first ever Games Day, followed shortly thereafter by John’s decision to leave the company as it pivoted towards Dungeons & Dragons and the emerging roleplaying boom.
This is John’s own account of the events that led to the founding of Games Workshop - a voice that has long been missing from the official record of events.
NOTE: At the 07:15 mark John mistakenly refers to the date as August 74, this should in fact be August 72.

Rowan Zeoli and Caeylin Ellis of the independent tabletop gaming news site Rascal join Jordan to chat about the founding of the site, taking games journalism seriously, and the future of gaming.
Rascal News was founded a year ago by 3 tabletop journalists who had worked for Polygon, Dicebreaker, Gizmodo, and I09. As those organisations have been shuttering their tabletop news coverage and firing professional journalists Rascal has sought to create an online space that is tackling major news stories across the tabletop industry.
From the major business moves of massive companies like Hasbro Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop to the smaller scale stories like union workers striking at Vallejo paints, and plenty of stuff in between, Rascal is looking to become a bastion of independent, honest journalism.

![Writing WFRP | Graeme Davis in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
There were many talented writers and artists involved in the creation of the Warhammer Fantasy world that we recognise today, but it’s clear that some key individuals helped to broaden and deepen the rich world of fantasy lore.
Graeme Davis was integral to the creation of the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game, developing the first edition and working with a tight knit team to write the Enemy Within - arguably the greatest published campaign in RPG history! Graeme talks with me about the early culture and ways of working at Citadel and Games Workshop under Bryan Ansell, how things changed over time, the end of Flame Publications, and a litany of other fascinating topics from the beginning of Warhammer.

![Warhammer Fiction | Kim Newman in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Kim Newman has had a long and successful career as an author famous for his Anno Dracula series, as a television personality, and as Empires horror expert since the magazines very first issue. But there is another aspect to the remarkable history of this remarkable writer - his time writing the very first Warhammer Fantasy novel, Drachenfels.
Under the banner of Games Workshops first publishing imprint, GW Books, and the pseudonym Jack Yeovil, Kim Newman wrote a series of short stories and novels set in the fledgling Warhammer Fantasy world, as well as an intricately plotted dystopian tale set in the short-lived Mad Max fuelled world of Dark Future.
Kim talks to me about the beginnings of GW Books, his work for Games Workshop both published and unpublished, and returning to the characters years later to pen a new tale for the Black Library.

![The Overfiend | Andy Chambers in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Andy Chambers was lead designer, AKA the Overfiend, for 40K 3rd Edition and was arguably the person most responsible for evolving it into the foundations of the modern game.
Starting with White Dwarf articles for Space Marine & Adeptus Titanicus, writing Battle Magic and Warhammer Armies: Skaven for Fantasy Battle, and then leading the development of 40K and working on at least 12 Codex books! And thats not to mention Necromunda, Battlefleet Gothic, and Gorka Morka. Plus more recently the 2000AD and Judge Dredd games for Warlord Games.
Andy and I talk about his career at Games Workshop, the art of developing 40K and other GW classics, and his more recent work on new games like Judge Dredd.
