Quick review of my NEW stainless steel alcohol stove from Pathfinder - Wilderness Outfitters, as well as a look at my other stoves and cook kits. So far the Pathfinder stove has done great and boils water nice and fast. Some other reviews Ive seen had an issue with it not blooming at all or only part of the way. I did experience this a little and its because the inner wall isnt a tight fit which causes a slight gap at the top and it to partially block 2 or 3 of the holes. This can be fixed though and it produces a nice flame afterwards . As far as weight goes , its definitely not for the ultra lightweight crowd, but it does pack down into my GSI cup with room to spare and is absolutely bombproof..... perfect for anyone on a budget or who needs solid gear that can take a beating and last. I did buy a lid for the cup for under $5 from Amazon as well to complete the set. The burner has a large capacity and burns denatured alcohol quite well and the pot stand is the perfect size to hold a GSI cup..... Definitely a great kit for bushcrafting and also hiking if you dont mind the weight. Next in this vid, I go over my other stoves and cook kits : a $20 all in one "backpacking" kit I got off of Amazon, the folding Sterno pot stand, my Stanley adventure + prep cook kit , an old USGI canteen kit and some of the reflectix coozies I made for my Amazon pot & GSI cup. All in all, its not the lightest or most expensive gear, but it's all held up great and boils water just the same!
