I forgot to mention the irony in the fact that black people in the arts like Josephine Baker and James Baldwin fled to Paris to escape racial tension and limitations of the United States and now these French actresses are looking to the USA as a bastion of hope for diversity in film and TV...

Does it make more sense (to attempt) doing these reviews of non-translated French books in French (with subtitles)? Or would that just be more alienating?
