These products were supplied for free to me for review by MCOplus but they did not pay for the review nor did they have *any* editorial control over what I said.

This is a look at and test of two compact cardioid microphones from Chinese brand MCOplus. One is designed for camcorders / phones (choosing the appropriate 3.5mm cable for that purpose) and the other plugs directly into phones that have a suitable TRRS jack.

The obvious comparison is with the popular Rode VideoMicro so I did some audio samples of them both.

Note: subsequent to the review, the mic holder snapped after light use, so I can’t recommend it although I still do like the concept very much.
