I managed to trashpick an entire reverse osmosis system, but not having a sink of my own to install it under, decided to hook it up to the garden hose instead. I built a wooden stand to make more portable. The metal dispenser arm was left over from another project.

I was always skeptical of getting my own RO system because I thought if I bought one, I'd be indebted to having to purchase proprietary filters from the manufacturer forever. Fortunately, that is not the case with this one, as it uses standard size filters and the components are all modular connecting with 1/4" tubing and quick connect collets. The replacement filters I bought were from appliedmembranes.com
This one was a 5-stage filter replacement plus alkalizing cartridge. In addition to the pipe adapter I machined, there were a few extra fittings from the hardware store including the outlet valve, since I'm not using the original faucet.
