If you have some time to spare, I'd recommend to watch this at least twice. The magic develops after the second run. I had enough time to listen to this great song; I died like 20 times before enough takes were recorded. That's why I saved (and loaded) the game during gameplay. Sort of annoying if you get stuck at an edge and die due to that. That cost me nerves. Look how many shots I miss with the double-barreled shotgun at the last 30 seconds. No wonder that I died just a few seconds later. I really deserved that. FUCK YOU, ARCH-VILES! That's probably the reason for "Arch-Viles den" as subtitle.

Thanks to HunDoomguy for letting me know this WAD. He requested MAP05 in OPL, but I told him I'd pick MAP24. It's just an awesome song.

Footage from Vanilla DooM, so you better don't watch it in fullscreen. I have no problem with .. "pixelation", but to save disk space, I reduced the VBR of the video stream to 80% (formerly 85-90%). And that's clearly to see. The sound is altered slightly.

A single OPL chip has immense problems handling this song. It's not enjoyable. Since it's only emulated, it's mono again. To avoid a "mono"feeling, the sound is processed a bit:

* Bass frequencies improved (as contrast to the mid and high frequencies, which are very loud and bright. They are fine, so I let them the way they are and changed the lower frequencies instead.)
* Slight fake-stereo processing (wided the panning by 15%)
* Subtle reverb effects
* Audio input level has been limited to avoid clipping and doubling-effects

All of these changes are less intense compared to my previous clips from the last months. I found out I have a general reverb enabled on my system. If you don't have such a thing, the sound is different on your system. The same goes with SRS or DOLBY effects. On some video I realized I just put too much editing in, forgot which one. Usually, I have my Razor-headphones (yes, I know. Pff, "Razer". But the mic had better specs than the Sennheiser headphones in the same price-range) on and the sound is perfectly balanced. Though, that day they were not plugged in and through the built-in speakers of my notebook it was clear the utterly exaggerated "wide-stereo" and "maximizing" effects on that certain video ruined it...
