I was asked to be a part of a special show commemorating the 100 yr Anniversary of the Everett Massacre. The show was to be called 100 Years Ago Tomorrow and through the songs of 6 songwriters the events that led up to local authorities brutally overreacting to the IWW Union's efforts to organize local workers to advocate for better conditions. I was asked to write a song from the perspective of the main antagonists of the unfortunate events, one Sheriff Donald McRae. This song is from his point of view and does not reflect my opinions.
This was a fascinating project and I am so thankful to Jason Webley, the artist behind the event for including me. I learned so much about where I grew up and the incredible story of the Wobblies (members of the IWW) the first union to represent minorities and women.
