Whoa, after almost 7 months of production hell, this behemoth of a project is done!
Where to even start?
Well, this is one of the longest PMVs I’ve ever finished in general, and certainly is the longest PMV I’ve ever finished with backgrounds (Remind me to never draw the Lifeboat again) and with humans. It’s a wonder I got this far when I rarely ever finish much smaller personal projects. The power of my Union X hyperfixation I guess.
But wait, did you think the production hell statement was only motivation based? No. No it really wasn’t.
Here’s a curated list of events that this PMV somehow survived:
- Several levels of art block
- The death of a Grandparent
- My animation app completely breaking and me having to find a new one about half way through production (luckily not much was lost but I did have to screen record what I had done)
-A one month break for Art Fight (normally when I stop working on something my motivation to go back to it tanks)
-My old iPad completely breaking and me having to get a new one (resulting in 3 frames lost, all including the lifeboat, another month with no progress, and me having to re-edit what I already had finished)
-The release of the rest Dark Road (My brain changed gears for a week or two after that came out, didn’t last tho lol)
-A song fic being made inspired by my song and character choices (not an obstacle just a fun fact I guess lol)
-Me getting Covid
-And the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (which seems like it has nothing to do with this but it does)
Anyways KHUX, amirite?
Hey 3 other people Union X fandom, it’s been like, a year and a half since our game finished now, isn’t that insane. I still haven’t moved on. I’m still riding on that hype. My feelings are still hurt (in a good way) by how it ended. I even looped someone else into the fandom while I was working on this. There’s four of us now! We can spread out our suffering (due to lack of new content fan or otherwise) even more!
Of course I’ll continue to make Union X content, don’t get me wrong. Legend has it after I do like, 1 Warrior Cats MAP part I’ll be heading back to the KHUX kids and animating another PMV, or Animatic, or, God forbid, an AMV (Please don’t do that to yourself CQ, you have so much to live for). I mean I have like….. too many animation ideas for them to not pick up at least one of them after this. I don’t learn lessons so I might even do one that means I have to draw the Lifeboat again (*Yay!*).
Alright, I should shut up now ‘cause I’m rambling. See ya next time I made a needlessly complex project!
