Clarifying things HERE!
- Norbert did saw his death in the void. I just chose not to show it right away. So the scene where you see him as a ‘ghost’ is actually a flashback to his experience with the blank reality.
- Norbert doesn’t hate Nicholas for killing him but he’s mad at him for another reason which hopefully will be revealed if I get in to the finale. If I don’t – I am still going to make an epilogue XD
- In case you were wondering why Diana shows up in the illusion while Norbert’s demon exposes his insecurities – Diana was the one who told everyone to stay in on their first night as Returns. Norbert didn’t listen and wanted to find Esmeralda on his own, and now that Charles and Amicia have died he’s just paranoid that Diana might hate him despite not having a single interaction together.

Fun fact:
- Norbert’s inner demon actually has a name – Trebron (which is just ‘Norbert’ spelled backwards lol). I just didn’t want to call him ‘demon’ all the time while writing out the script.

Now, here’s some important things that you need to know about Norbert and swords.
- I made his family being famous of making the best swords in all of Galway. It was like a years old family tradition.
- The oldest son would inherit the business after his father. If the father had a daughter her husband would take it.
- „May it be your own. May it be just like you. May it be straight out of your heart” - those were the core rules of swordsmithing in Norbert’s family.
- In short – in Mavern family a good sword comes from a swordsmith who’s just being himself while still doing his job.
- I did some research about swordsmithing and I learned that it was considered both science and art. While Norbert was good at understanding art and he was a crafty kid, he still wanted to be more. He just tried to be like his family without trying to understand what swordsmithing was about. So beside the tradition of the oldest son inheriting the role of a swordsmith that’s one of the reasons why he couldn’t be one and probably also the reason why he felt like a failure for most of his life and didn’t belong in his family.
