Returnal never quite clicked for Sherif on PS5, but on PC with massively higher framerates and mouse aiming, all the frustrations that he had with the console version have melted away. This isn't just generally because PC hardware is better than console hardware: Returnal in particular seems designed with mouse aiming in mind, with enemies that dart around the battlefield and require quick-response aiming to despatch with any efficiency. Playing on controller just isn't as snappy.
As well as the refined controls, the PC version benefits from a range of graphics settings to fine-tune, including a full suite of raytracing options, and a brilliant benchmarking tool that we're sure is going to become a firm favourite among overclockers and system builders.
