Return to Sender is a satirical music video confronting the way parts of the Church can treat the Book of Revelation as though it were addressed to someone else.
The song follows an absurd 18th-century courtroom and theatrical world where confident teachers insist they believe the Bible literally, affirm inspiration and inerrancy, and yet repeatedly reject the warnings, commands, and promises Christ gives to His churches in Revelation.
The central question is simple:
If Revelation was sent to the churches, what happens when the Church effectively writes across the envelope:
RETURN TO SENDER. THIS LETTER’S NOT FOR ME.
Through humor, period costumes, couriers, courtrooms, fiddlers, ships, letters, and a growing chorus of rejection, the video explores the tension between claiming biblical authority and dismissing major portions of Christ’s final message to His Bride.
This is satire, but the question behind it is serious.
