In the town of Örebro in Sweden you find an annual geek market called RetroMania. Here you can find comics, games, toys, and just about everything you could possibly imagine for the geekly inclined!
For more geeky adventures, subscribe to the channel: youtube.com/@thisisgeeky?sub_confirmation=1
Also, join the Three Star Vagabond facebook group to see what else I get up to: facebook.com/threestarvagabond
In this video I tell you very briefly about the history of RetroMania, from its beginnings in 2017 to the current edition in April 2023, but I mostly show you the amazing things for sale here. And most importantly, I get to talk to retro collectors of all kinds! The retro collecting is what draws people to this event - but the people are what makes it such a beloved nerd market.
First time sellers mix with people who have been collecting - and selling things - for decades. Emily from Gaming Grannar told me of her view of what makes retro collecting so interesting, and I found the Swedish Champion of Mario Kart 64 at the fair as well. There's a story to be told about each and every one of these collectors - and I'm sorry to say that I'm not even scratching the surface in this video. But I still hope that you will find it interesting!
