I ordered a used paddle shift steering wheel from a junkyard - they came fitted to V6 Passats. I was so excited to put it in I didn't even change out of my work clothes.

The install is very straightforward: Remove the airbag, remove the old wheel, install the new wheel, reinstall airbag, and recode the steering wheel control module with VCDS. This video shows the process in real time.

I paid $100 shipped for this wheel from a junkyard in TN. I think it was a very fair price.
