After getting the reel and frame up in to the loft area, which was no easy feat, I get to work installing the reel. I have to remove some of the wall framing to make a spot for it, and then drill bolt holes in the large support beams that the reel frame will bolt to. Once I have the reel mounted, I move on to building another hanger and pulley for the peak of the barn, which will guide the cable back down towards the reel . This pulley needs to be angled slightly, which is a bit more challenging. After installing this pulley, it's the fun part of running the cable through both pulleys and down to the reel, where I wind it up. Then, I cut the cable on the other end to length, reattach it to the chandelier, and attempt to raise it for the first time...
