The all new Retevis Ailunce H1 DMR handheld : GPS : APRS : Handheld HAM Radio.
This brilliant handheld two way radio was supplied to me by Retevis for review, It is a 144-148MHz and 430-450MHz FM analogue and FM DMR Digital Transceiver boasting APRS and GPS.
Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) is an amateur radio-based system for real time digital communications & Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based hyperbolic navigation system in this case used to give the DMR and APRS a set of position co-ordinates.
The radio itself is a nice hand sized, well built walkie talkie with a colour screen and nicely laid out buttons. The receiver is good and the volume loud enough to use outdoors, voice reproduction in DMR mode is some of the best I have heard keeping up with, if not surpassing the competition.
Programming the unit is one of its short comings, as it is not intuitive and takes a lot of thought but with perseverance the results are well worth the effort.
Overall I like this handheld and would recommend it.
