The Legend of Korra gets a lot of criticism for a lot of reasons (some justified, some not so much), but chief among them are the various ways in which it retcons its predecessor. Avatar: The Last Airbender established a lot of things about the lore of the Avatarverse that are seemingly contradicted, changed, or ignored in TLOK, to the point where many fans and detractors claim that it ruins the original show. Today, we'll be going through each retcon from TLOK and explaining how, from a lore perspective (not a writing perspective) how they are actually very consistent with AtLA's lore.
