More room can be made to preserve dialects even with the promotion of Mandarin, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. In his National Day Rally Mandarin speech on Aug 23, he announced that the number of dialect film screenings in Singapore will not be limited as long as a Mandarin-dubbed version is available.
