Lake Trail was left in ruins. A nearly $5 million partnership between the Forest Service, the National Forest Foundation, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Great Outdoors Colorado and the City of Glenwood Springs, the trail reconstruction is complete, rebuilt to last the next 100 years.
This follows the people who brought Hanging Lake back: the National Forest Foundation project lead who first hiked the trail in floodwater, the Forest Service district ranger who watched bridges wash away, and the recreation program manager who redesigned the trail bridge by bridge.
