This gab-gear reversible beam engine is thought to be no younger than 1840 and may be from the mid 1830s. It was brought up off a small wrecked vessel in a place I do not know, and ended up in my shop for restoration by its owner. From the time of this video upload, we have been working on the single task of un-seizing these six bolts and removing the cylinder for no less than 4 months. This task has now been completed without breaking a single bolt. Heat and penetrant are your friends.
