Hello everybody!

This time I have the restoration of a Commodore MPS 803 matrix printer. I ordered it last year, when I was shopping e-bay for usefull components to pimp my SX-64. Watch out, some more minor stuff is about to be edited as well! I try to keep a good mix of video types however: restorations, workshop stuff and maybe the odd Lego build.

The printer was in pretty much what I would describe "OK" condition. The ribbon was dry as it could be, the power plug was hanging on for dear life and lots of dust and lint inside. I decided to do a full tear down and rebuild as well as change out all the electrolytic caps.

Note: When watching the recording, I did realize that the additional washer was from underneath the black drive shaft/wheel, but the mechanism is working fine and by now I can't remember where I put that washer... let's just leave "works perfectly fine" alone, OK? :)

This printer is not going to see much milage, as both it and the computer it attaches to will only be used for special nostalgia sessions, so again: decent restoration and working order is good enough for me. Like with other videos, I did cut out some of the more boring aspects of disassembly/reassembly, but I'll appreciate any comments about possible mistakes or errors!
