Welcome back to another episode of Missflips! In today’s episode, I’m gonna be sharing some amazing methods and products that I’ve found recently to help you with your restoration projects. When I found this danish ROSEWOOD (not teak as I say in the video) desk at a thrift store, I knew that I wanted to restore it but I had never worked on something so valuable so I got to researching on some eco friendly ways to restore furniture. Unfortunately, this is still a pretty new thing in the world of furniture flipping and restoring so I turned to antique restoration and found @queercusstellata on TIKTOK.
If you guys have TIKTOK, I highly recommend looking her up. She is SUPER informative and turned me on to some amazing products and methods that, 1. Save me money, 2. Help the environment, and 3. Help your furniture last longer!
Now when I say that I’m “ditching my orbital sander”, I don’t mean for good. There is a time and place for sanders just like anything else. It also depends on your process and how you choose to do things. But for projects like this and most of my projects from here on, I want to minimize my products and waste as much as possible and I highly recommend giving this method a try if you’re looking to do the same. That being said, I am very new to these things and am still learning and will happily take any constructive feedback or recommendations that you may have!
