$The Denazification that Never Happened When we think of the Nuremberg trials we think of one trial, singular. The trial, the triumph of justice where famous Nazis like Hermann Goring were finally brought to justice and many of the standards of international law were first established. What less people know is that there were actually 12 subsequent trials for war crimes held at Nuremberg, among numerous other trials held elsewhere, most notably the Auschwitzs trials and the Dachau trials. Now, however much or little you might think of the result of the first and most famous Nuremberg trial, a good two-thirds of the people at trial did end up hanged, and most of the rest tried spent the rest of their lives in prison. But the USSR’s support of Nazis was a fraction compared to the extent that Nazis were reintegrated into Western intelligence services and western society in general.
