This video goes over a technique I use to get a dog to WANT to move off of a bed, furniture or a crate which is exceptionally helpful when working on your dogs resource guarding issues (see rg protocol below). Basically you train a release cue away from the guarding situations and build it so that it is strong reliable and the dog has a positive emotional response to it. Similar to training a recall. Then you start asking for the release in harder and harder situations until you can use it in real life situations when it's necessary. You can also teach your dog the cue to move to a different location.
Seek help from a professional trainer who doesn't use physical or psychological intimidation to help you with this training technique if you have a dog who can become aggressive.
