In this simulation of the wave equation, resonances are excited in a circular cavity, by sources placed in four secondary circular cavities. The design is inspired by cavity magnetrons, which are used to generate microwaves in microwave ovens.
The color hue depends on the height of the wave.

The simulation solves the wave equation by discretization. The algorithm is adapted from the paper hplgit.github.io/fdm-book/doc/pub/wave/pdf/wave-4print.pdf
