Maybe its longevity is just because of time. Resident Evil is three decades old. It defined a whole sub-genre in survival horror. Maybe it’s because of its prevalence. Directors Cuts, Remakes, Remasters of the Remakes, terrible films, good-enough films, a board game, a stage show, and a book series have kept the mansion’s memory alive.
Or maybe… it’s because Resident Evil is just that good.
