Halo Infinite has been out for almost TWO YEARS, and after various attempts at repulsing sniper bullets at various points in time, it all but seemed impossible... until the right circumstances seem to line up.
I've been told that Mythbusters have attempted this to no avail, and I am also speculating that this mechanic or sandbox interaction might have been added post-launch; in Season 4 to be specific. This has not been confirmed, but after seeing some new behavior between sniper bullets and mancannons (where sniper bullet would get caught in them and redirected), it became clear that bullets are possible to be interacted with.
A few nights ago I was live streaming, and baiting someone I knew had a sniper on the exact same map in the clip (Detachment). I was wall peeking them over and over, and figured if I got the timing right, I might be able to anticipate their sniper shot. It took two attempts (the first one reflected, but missed; the second landed hitmarkers), and upon discovering it was indeed possible to reflect sniper shots, I set out on a quest to repulse a sniper headshot that night.
I grinded Team Snipers for multiple hours snagging all the Repulsors I could find to test out different variables (it might have been wise to test it in a custom game, but I wanted to hit a cool clip with it), and the patterns I've noticed is that range seems to matter (so reasonable distance between the shooter and target), and that this requires anticipating the person, rather than reacting to them. I might have more details to provide in the future, or perhaps someone will do the research themselves. This is what I know so far.
