Nick Knudsen breaks down Harry Enten’s latest midterm analysis, the expanding Democratic battlefield in states like North Carolina, Ohio, Maine, Texas, Iowa and Alaska, Jon Ossoff’s aggressive Georgia
campaign and James Talarico’s increasingly competitive Senate race against Ken Paxton.
For once, this is a Dangerous Newsbreak with some genuinely encouraging news.
Enten’s analysis puts a Democratic sweep of Congress at a 52% chance, making it the single most likely individual outcome in his model. That does not mean a sweep is guaranteed. Other forecasters remain much more cautious about Democratic Senate control.
But the underlying shift is real.
Texas and Iowa have moved into toss-up territory in several current race ratings, Alaska and Ohio have become highly competitive, and Democrats now have multiple possible paths instead of relying on one nearly perfect Senate map.
And in Texas, recent public polling has repeatedly shown Democrat James Talarico running neck-and-neck with or slightly ahead of Republican Ken Paxton.
So yes, Danger Corps, you are allowed to feel optimistic.
