A new report on the mass shooting at Brown University, commissioned by Brown, finds it was “highly unlikely” the deadly attack last December could have been prevented, but finds flaws in various aspects of the school’s response.
Brown released an executive summary of the review Friday, the same day the city of Providence released the findings of a report it commissioned on police and fire department response to the mass shooting.
The Brown University report, conducted by the firm Teneo, is critical of now-former leadership of the campus police department, finds campus police slowed the Providence police investigation, and states that alert systems should have been used immediately after the shooting but were not.
