I couldn't get the replacement on without breaking the O-ring at first, but like the video shows the solution is to lubricate it with the coolant, then it'll pop on without much difficulty.

The replacement flange is a replacement for buying OEN 11537541992 and 11537544638 from BWW (which includes the hose going all the way to the thermostat).

These instructions are also applicable with little or no modifications to the N20, N52, N54 and N55 engines in addition to the N53 here.
