To create compositions that work, you don’t need to learn a bunch of rules. All you need to do is think about contrast and repetition. Repetition create cohesion - contrast creates interest. In this video, you can see me repeating the same colours around the piece, but each time they appear, they are a different size or shape. That’s the contrast. Likewise, I repeat the circle motif throughout this piece, but each time it appears it is either a different colour or a different size or style.
