In this video we start by addressing a misfire issue on a 04 F150 equipped with the 4.6L Triton two valve engine. Things take a turn for the worse when we discover a damaged spark plug and improperly installed thread repair insert. This afforded an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the use of the Cal-Van 38900 triton spark plug thread repair tool kit. This kit is helpful for repairing damaged spark plug threads on triton engines when the original threads have been damaged or even a repair insert is previously been installed and has failed. The oversized repair inserts are capable of repairing damaged threads even when other inserts have failed and the spark plug bore is heavily damaged. We have never seen a failure of these quality inserts after years of using them exclusively for Triton two valve engine repairs.
