Rendez-vous is a musical invitation from cellist Camille Thomas and pianist Julien Brocal, offering listeners a unique and intimate experience. Recorded at and produced by Tippet Rise Art Center in Fishtail, Montana, the project reimagines iconic classical works by pairing them with new compositions by the artists that draw on different influences and eras.

The basis of this “Liquid Light” paring is Satie's Gnossienne No. 1, a liquid, moving piece like waves crashing endlessly. In Reflection No. 4, Brocal carried the melody on the piano, while Thomas accompanied him with a cello orchestra—each line recorded separately and then layered together by Tippet Rise’s team of sound engineers.

Films were captured in the Olivier Music Barn, the performance space where the recordings took place.
