I recently tried to render a large scale forest in Blender and quickly failed, since my computer couldn't handle the amount of trees. Fortunately I came across the Alpha Trees add-on which provides a smart solution for handling scenes with lots of trees. In this video I am going through its features and demonstrate how I used it to render a landscape with more than 1.3 million trees.
