I can't begin to think about what's next for my red pine forest after an ice storm rolled in and in one night knocked down several thousand trees. But one thing is for certain, I can't finish cleaning up until I start. Today I start to uncover the damage to my sawmill shed with the help of my capstan winch. My goal is to get the sawmill area cleaned up in hopes that I can start to mill logs as they make their way from the tangled mess of a forest back to my sawmill.
