Quick way to remove the noticeable tint that you get when sampling colors from compressed textures in Source Engine games. If untreated, it compresses the color again and doubles the effect, so be sure to undo it before sampling!

In text:
- Open the texture tga you extracted from the VPK of your choice using GCFScape.
- Copy the texture and paste it into the alpha channel of a new layer.
- In that new layer, fill it with the color #070307 and set the layer mode to Linear Dodge (Add).
- Merge the new layer with the original texture for convenience.
