One of the most beneficial features of V-Loc™ post anchors is their re-usability. A new post and wedge can be quickly and easily installed into the existing V-Loc anchor.
In addition to a new post and a replacement wedge, you'll need a small sledge; if the old post and wedge still remain in the V-Loc socket, you'll need a TAPCO Wedge Puller.
1. Insert the wedge puller's hooked tip into the wedge hole. Grasp the grip on other end of the puller in a manner that ensures your hand will be clear of the sliding weight. Grasp the center of the slide weight so that your lower hand will not get pinched between it and its stop.
2. Slide the weight up the puller shaft, impacting it upward against the stop repeatedly until the wedge releases. Remove the old wedge and post from the socket.
3. Place a new post into the socket, abutting it to the thick leg angle. Making sure its extractor hole is nearest the top, insert the V-Loc wedge into the socket at a slight angle. Hammer the wedge in with the small sledge until it is flush with the top of the V-Loc.
