Viewers. Sad news. Most of you know my Grams through my past videos... This Earth lost an amazing, beautiful, strong woman this week. A woman who helped shape me into the person I am today. I will do other, actual memorial videos like I normally would later on, when I have the ability to edit videos. For now, I just wanted to let you all know how my holiday season has been, and how I spent my solstice. Though it wasn't as I planned, I wouldn't trade my last moments with her.
I got flustered and forgot what I was saying early on in the video... I was saying I remember when I first brought my partner to meet her, and then I started talking about Grams' difficulty hearing and speaking with new people. I meant to go back around to say, when I first brought my partner to meet her, I warned them that she might not talk much because she's sometimes uncomfortable trying to talk to new people if she can't hear, etc. I left the room for a few minutes--I think I was doing laundry--and when I came back, they were DEEP in conversation and Grams was telling them stories about when she first moved to the United States and lived in Cleveland back in the 1940s! She sat and talked with them for HOURS on that, and multiple other visits later on. There was never a moment of discomfort, and she had so many stories to tell. Many of which I'm only hearing for the first time this week, recounted by her children.
