The Biola Community is mourning the loss of a beloved colleague and sister in Christ, Torrey Honors College professor Dr. Alina Beary.
Dr. Beary devoted more than 20 years of her life studying or teaching philosophy. She shared her passion for philosophy and ethics with students at Biola for five years. Biola students appreciated Beary’s engaging presence in the classroom and the way she intentionally cultivated community with and for her students, frequently hosting them in her home. She serves as CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, AAPLOG, and has been active with the organization since 1996. AAPLOG is the largest non-sectarian pro-life physician organization in the world, with over 7,000 members across the U.S., and international members on every continent. Dr. Harrison is married to another Dr. Harrison, Mark Harrison, M.D. and is the mother of five children and 10 grandchildren.
