Between April and July of 1994, over 500,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killed by their fellow countrymen. This is a talk that historian and Central-African expert Alison Des Forges gave at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on May 5, 1994, a month into the Genocide. Working for Human Rights Watch and fluent in Rwanda's languages, French and Kinyarwanda, she would later publish her research on the Genocide under the title "Leave None to Tell the Story", available at www.hrw.org.
