Family and friends gathered to honor and celebrate the life of Annie Wright, long-time Poets House board member and widow of Pulitzer Prize–winning poet James Wright. An early and devoted supporter of Poets House, Annie was a lifelong educator and passionate about children’s learning and enrichment, helping to develop the Children’s Room and poetry programs for children at Poets House. She was a tireless champion of her late husband’s work, organizing numerous events in his honor and serving throughout her life as editor and literary executor. Poets, family, and friends will share memories and reflections on Annie’s life.
