An analysis of why remakes have been increasing over the years, trends contributing to this, discussions about theaters, original movies, and what actually makes a remake GOOD or BAD.

(Criteria for assembling the graph and notes):
1. Movies had to have at least 30k watches on Letterboxd. There were a lot of remakes that only a handful of people have seen, which I don't think were worth counting, and it would also be migraine-inducing to find all of them.
2. Primarily looking at American cinema unless the IP is really popular worldwide, like Godzilla.
3. There are some movies that fall into grey areas like an example being It and It: Chapter Two. It's still a remake, but it's also a sequel. The Hobbit trilogy is another one, and I honestly didn't put in the last two because they deviated so much.
4. Human error. I tried to the best of my ability to assemble this list. Took about 10 hours as there isn't a streamlined list of every remake and reboot in existence. Even if there was a list, it would always be missing a lot.
I don't have enough space to put all of the movies in the description so I put in my discord under the Announcments under the ping for this video's upload.
