This 1946 song was written by Eddie Miller, Robert Yount, and James Pebworth (as Dub Williams). It became a hit in 1954 for Jimmy Heap, Ray Price, and Kitty Wells. Price's single is considered to be his 'breakout' hit.
In 1967, Engelbert Humperdinck released his version, which went on to become the highest selling single in the UK that year. It stayed at number one on the UK singles chart for six weeks. (Wikipedia)
