Past Tense | Relaxing Rain Sounds For Sleeping – Rainy Summer’s Day – For Sleep, Insomnia And Stress Relief @PastTenseRelax | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Relax and unwind to the soothing sounds of rain on a summer’s day.
If you have trouble sleeping, suffer from insomnia or you're feeling stressed, I really hope this relaxing rainy soundscape can be of some benefit to you.
So why do rain sounds or the flowing sound of water have such a sleepy effect on the brain? Part of the answer lies in how our mind interpret the noises we hear, both while awake and also in the dead of night while we’re asleep. Each sound is interpreted as either a threat or a non-threat.
Certain sounds, such as someone screaming or a loud car alarm blasting out in the middle of the night can hardly be ignored. Yet other sounds, like the relaxing sound of rain, wind in the trees or birds singing, the brain sort of tunes out.
These slow, gentle noises are the sounds of non-threats, which is why they have such a calming effect on us. It's like nature saying: “Hey, don't worry, put your feet up, everything is fine”.
So just close your eyes, relax and enjoy!
