The City of Toronto, in partnership with the TDSB’s Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement, is offering a reimagining of the Provincial Freeman, a historic newspaper first published by anti-slavery activist Mary Ann Shadd Cary in the 1850s created by Black youth voices of Toronto are sharing their unique experiences, stories, contributions to global activism, and leadership through content that challenges dominant narratives.
