The Reggae Photography of Peter Simon 1976 - 1985
Peter Simon (1947 – 2018) was declared the first photojournalist to bring Reggae to the United States by the Jamaican Ministry of Tourism in 2013. Simon was a contributing photographer for many publications, including the New York Times and Rolling Stone, among others and credited with capturing some of reggae’s most iconic images. Simon immersed himself in Jamaican culture and reggae music. His images reflect an unparalleled ability to evoke emotion and narrate stories through his lens.
