The Regenerative Viticulture Foundation is sponsoring the "One Block Challenge" to support vineyards starting their Regenerative journey. It's a great concept: set aside a regenerative block and compare to a control. Do it all on a manageable scale and share data with other growers. Everyone learns together so the adoption of regenerative practices across the world can accelerate.
Senior Agronomist and AEA grape expert Pedro Rioseco checked in last week from Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, California, which hosted a field day promoting the One Block Challenge.
Vineyard manager and AEA Ambassador Greg Pennyroyal demonstrated Wilson Creek's cover crop strategy, sheep integration, and showed how to simple it is to perform an infiltration test, which gives a good indication of soil health and water absorption.
